FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

We invite everyone to join us for a special Sunday Worship experience as our Coffeyville First United Methodist and Edna United Methodist Church will meet together for a casual service in the Fellowship Hall at First United Methodist Church. We will begin with a carry-in brunch at 9:30 AM downstairs in our Fellowship Hall. As we are serving ourselves and enjoying the fellowship, we will begin our Worship Service at 10:00 AM. This will be a new casual experience for us all. As with any United Methodist Church carry-in meal, there will be plenty of good food for everyone who comes to join us.

During our Worship Service Pastor Yves Kinangwa will continue his 4 week Sermon Series, “Everything is a Miracle.” This week’s sermon is entitled “Seeing Clearly” with scripture from Mark 8:22-25.

Also, Sunday morning we will dedicate our new Loving Lending Library located in our Church’s Community Playground. Our Loving Library will have a variety of books for all ages, which will be provided by the books donated from our congregation.

If anyone sees something in our Loving Library that they would like to read, they can take it. When finished, books should be shared with a friend, brought back, or left in one of the six Lending Libraries that our Public Library has also provided throughout our city. Books should be shared with others, instead of collecting dust on bookshelves.

We continue gathering the contents for our Christmas Blessing Baskets which are being prepared to bless local families, and will be distributed through the Salvation Army. To make it easy to remember and participate, we have 10 different theme Sundays. This week is Vegetable Sunday and we will bring peas, corn, green beans, sweet potatoes, and pork and beans. However, the items that we bring each Sunday don’t have to be limited to that day’s theme.

Wednesday, October 26th at 5:30 PM our monthly “Dinner Club” will meet at Jack’s Place in Liberty. Everyone is welcome to come for the fellowship and share a meal together.
